6:30 AM Coffee and morning reading 8:30 AM Morning Meeting Hullabaloo Greeting 9:30 AM Spelling Word Sorts starting this week. Small group time everyday and I'm able to meet will all students during our reading block 10:00 AM Whiteboard Math work. the kids love having their own personal whiteboards to start our lessons. The whiteboards hold them responsible for their learning and engaged in the lesson. It also allows me to make quick day assessments on how the kids are learning and understanding the lesson. 11:00 AM Lunch hour in the Community Room 12:00 PM Science Talk ~ A new protocol we learned this week that encourages students to share their research, provide questions or comments, and also practice classroom norms of respect. When you hold the "microphone" eyes are on you and the others are listening. I am so proud of these kiddos today and listening to them share what they have learned is so amazing. They are trying their best and investigating the topic about the sun, moon, and stars. 1:00 PM Computer Lab Reflection ~ A friend wasn't feeling good today and had a little accident. The kiddos did great at being safe, leaving the room, and going with the flow. The second part of our Expedition lesson allowed us to make more observations about the sun and moon and write about them. 1:30 PM Create Lab ~ practicing for our final product....it's a surprise! 4:00 PM Packing for Bend ~ I tend to get an early start on all packing trips. Mr. Kainoa and i will be traveling to Bend this week for some snowshoeing and tubing. It's a three-day weekend which is so needed after a "vacation". 8:00 PM Mango Kombucha and light reading to end the day
It was surely and eventful day, but I love my Flock. They are so loving, kind, and persevere at any and all tasks. They pay attention to detail, look closely to make observations, and are always willing to try new things. As we prepare for EL Night next month, I am reminded how amazing it is to be a First Grade teacher and the progress we are always making. I love each and everyone one of these kids and I'm so happy you are here too! Have a great weekend XOXO, Miss Tasha |
